Md. Hasan Mia is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering at the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Bangladesh. He completed both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from the University of Rajshahi, where he developed a strong foundation in theoretical physics and computational materials science. Over the course of his academic journey, he has gained significant teaching and research experience, making him a dedicated educator and an emerging scholar in the field of condensed matter physics.

Before joining IIUC, Md. Hasan Mia held lecturer positions at several institutions across Bangladesh. He began his teaching career at the Saic Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT), where he served briefly from January to February 2024. Following that, he joined Uttara University (UU), where he worked as a Lecturer from February to May 2024. He then moved on to Northern University Bangladesh (NUB), where he taught from May 2024 to January 2025. These diverse academic roles allowed him to instruct undergraduate students in a wide range of core physics subjects, including Heat and Thermodynamics, Electricity and Magnetism, Quantum Mechanics, Waves and Oscillation, Modern Physics, Solid State Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Electronics.

Alongside teaching, Md. Hasan Mia is actively involved in research, with a particular focus on first-principles calculations using Density Functional Theory (DFT). His work explores the mechanical, electronic, optical, and thermoelectric properties of various advanced materials, such as chalcogenides, halides, and MAX phases. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in reputed international journals, contributing to the advancement of materials science with applications in energy harvesting, electronics, and optoelectronics.
